Tonight we went to the Queen of Sheba restaurant in Dallas for dinner. Wow. That really took us back. It smelled like Ethiopia. The women came to our table to play with Deacon just like in Ethiopia. The food was just like in Ethiopia. Clayton and I didn’t even chicken out and order Italian food there, we got the Sambusa to start with and then we split the Zuresh Efekegn. Not too bad this time around!
Also, we got Deacon’s birth certificates in the mail today! Yay! Now I believe that we need to get him a social security card and apply for citizenship. That’s right…the paperwork never ends! I think it is another $500 to apply for citizenship along with another form from USCIS. Of course, after an international dossier, this little 7 page application is nothing!
Here is Deacon and the injera! He really liked to stick the entire roll of bread into his mouth and then just sort of chew on it…Although in this pic it looks like it is coming back up, but it isn’t. He liked it!

Silas likes injera too. AND, we love the Sumbussa. Kind of like a pizza pocket minus the pizza…. Glad you guys went back for some food… I fully regret not ordering Ethiopian food ever while we were in Ethiopia…seriously. In our defense though, I think we were so afraid of getting sick! You don’t want to be sick in a foreign land with a brand new baby in your arms! We go to our Ethiopian rest. twice a month and love it. I will say that I didn’t love it until the 4th trip there though.
Yes, Yes, Ethiopian play date coming soon…. I haven’t heard back from Ally though….
