Here is where I can keep a timeline for our 2nd adoption stuff. I just need somewhere to blog dates and technical stuff for those just interested in ethiopian adoptions. and this helps me think out stuff.
12/30/08 4:30pm faxed the first piece of paperwork (2nd adoption application request) to Gladney and paid the fee online. Also, going to look through all of deacon’s old paperwork and see if there is anything i can re-use. Here is my list of things to do so far…
1/05/09 Received the Application for 2nd Adoption from Gladney.
1/05/09- 2/23/09 Life gets in the way. Progress stalls. I’m doing some of the paperwork, but not a lot is going on.
2/24/09 Finally mail our I600A. Now for Gladney paperwork!
3/27/09 Mailed off fingerprint cards to FBI for background checks.
3/30/09 Mailed about half of Gladney paperwork in. Working hard on dossier papers now!
Oops. I kind of stink at keeping this timeline!!!
It is June 22, 2009 and we have been approved by Gladney to adopt, we have finished our dossier except for the 171h and we should be doing our CIS fingerprints tomorrow! We will then send everything to KBS Dossiers to get the dossier authenticated and such.
Ok, July 16th now, we are waiting for CIS to send us that very special letter stating that yes, we may bring an orphan into the country! Any day now people. We wrote a big fat check to our agency so we are good on the funds for a while. Just waiting now. waiting….waiting…
While waiting we will be doing our training. I think we need 10 hours of training before we can travel. I’ve already signed up for one of Gladney’s internet trainings for next week, so that is good. I’m going to read that book toddler adoption so maybe that will count! books counted last time.
7.30.09 Update: 2 hours of training down. Got 171h today. Will send entire dossier off tomorrow to KBS for authentication! yay!
8.19.09 Got word from KBS dossiers on 2 things we need to fix. No problem. Will fix them asap and get them on the way. Once our dossier is authenticated we are on waitlist!!! Current wait time for toddler is only 4 months!!!! Yay!
8.24.09 One more thing popped up that had to be redone. Drat. Chalk it up to God’s timing and call it a blessing. At least I’m still in the being proactive stage. The waiting stage kills me because there is nothing to do but wait!

It took 3 tries to get through court! But, around end of January we were successful at court. Natalie called and told us to be in ET the first week of March! Yes, Ma’am!!!
We traveled last weekend of February and were there until March 9th, I think. See main page for details on our trip!

Congrats on taking Deacon with you. We braved it with our Deacon and we were glad we did. Don’t know if we’d do it again…but that’s beside the point. It was really great for the two of them to get off on the right foot. For you boys, who will be closer in age, I think it’s an awesome choice. Let me know if I can help you out in any way.
Will you need clothes for this one?? I can surely return the favor and send you stuff as chub-bub outgrows it. He’s in 18 months now.

How are your 2nd papers coming along? We are also a Gladney family… waiting for our little girls from Colombia. Deacon is beautiful. Congratulations!
